Community Spotlight // Rescue Me Market + Mercantile

comfort for the soul | with A&B

This month, we are featuring a business spotlight interview with Rescue Me Market + Mercantile located in downtown Thomaston, GA.

Rescue Me Market + Mercantile was established in 2012 by Deanne Avery & Lane Coggins, who took a chance on a big dream by quitting their full-time banking careers. Operating in one of Thomaston's historic downtown buildings, formerly O. W. Jones & Son Hardware, Deanne & Lane run one of the most successful antique, furniture and home goods markets in the area.

Q: What is your favorite thing about Rescue Me Market + Mercantile?

A: Our favorite thing about Rescue Me Market + Mercantile is that we have created a destination, not just a store. People come from all over to visit us in Downtown Thomaston. We've made life-long friends who make sure they stop in while traveling through just to stretch their legs. We always have cold drinks, yummy snacks and happy music playing daily!

Q: How does Rescue Me Market + Mercantile play into the community of Thomaston, GA?

A: We are most proud of the local investment we made when we purchased our storefront property on The Square. Rescue Me Market + Mercantile is not just about selling homewares and furniture; it's about starting a revolution to revitalize one of the most charming little towns in America. Thomaston, Georgia is rich in opportunity and we set out to prove that if two girls worked hard enough we could show everyone that business is alive and well in our community. Almost six years later, we're still here and business is good.

Q: What's one thing you'd like people to know about Rescue Me Market + Mercantile that they might not already know?

A: Rescue Me Market + Mercantile sells everything from furniture to food, jewelry to jam and gifts to home goods. RMM+M also launched a website earlier this year and is shipping merchandise all over the country right from their very own local warehouse. You can shop 24/7 at www.rescuememarket.com or stop in for a visit Tuesday-Friday 10am-6pm, Saturday 10am-4pm!
